On July 27, 2000, The webmaster for the LSM 137 web site recived the following E-mail:

Good afternoon,
I was doing some research on my grandfathers service during WWII and found your site.  I have photos from Typhoon Louise and he had taken a picture of LSM-137.  I was very excited to track some information down on this event.  I will be scanning them all and there are many from the typhoon and the damage.  My grandfather served aboard the USS Minotaur ARL-15 but sadly there is little information on the ship.  Once scanned if you would like to post these pictures I would gladly send them, they are in great shape and would love to share them.  Thank you for the info that you have provided and if you have any for me it would be great to hear from you.
Regards,
BMC David Borg

George Nevers Carpenter Mate 3rd Class

George A. Nevers, graduated from boot camp in April of 1945 in Bainbridge Maryland, Company 3195 and, was assigned to the 13th Battalion Ship Repair Unit (SRU).
George Nevers then shipped right to Okinawa on the USS Minotaur ARL-15 (Repair Ship Landing Craft),  He was a Carpenters Mate 3rd Class.  He departed Okinawa on the USS Osage LSV-3 in late November and from what his wife remembers, arrived in Portland sometime in early January.

George Nevers wife, David Borg's grandmother, reports that George Nevers acted as the ships photographer, though not in an official capacity.  She still has the camera and uses it today.
The photos of Buckner Bay, Okinawa after Typhoon Louise, October 9 and 10, 1945, were photographed by George Nevers.
